Ronald Baker Quintet

Born in 1996, trumpet player Ronald Baker's quintet has kept proclaiming its attachment to jazz since then, binding ears and "eyes on the tradition" from a set of tunes quite exclusively original.
Under the musical direction of Alain Mayeras - pianist and main composer - the quintet has had many opportunities to test its efficiency in front of larger and larger audiences.

From formative tours  "Live in la Coursive" in La Rochelle, to all kinds of clubs as well as the most famous national and international festivals (Montreux, Montreal, Juan les Pins, Montlouis/Loire, Beaune...) Ronald Baker and his musicians have never abandoned the "Spirit of Blues" they consecrate endlessly through their tumultuous improvisations.

No Jazz without blues but also no jazz without drive which is wonderfully impulsed by one of the most stimulating rhythm sections : the incredible drummer Jeff Boudreaux and solid bass player David Salesse who give wings to the front line ready for the most unexpected adventures. That is why the music they play gives pleasure to their public. "Five for fun" but most of all fun for all.
